Stanislas Lépine (1835-1892) was a French landscape painter known for his luminous depictions of the Seine River and Parisian suburbs. A student of Corot, he masterfully captured atmospheric effects and urban scenes during France’s industrial transformation. Though overshadowed by the Impressionists, his intimate views of bridges, ports, and riverbanks show remarkable sensitivity to light and atmosphere.
