- 🖌️ He was born in Dieppe in 1869 into a wealthy family and showed interest in art from a young age.
- 🏫 Valtat studied at the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris and the Académie Julian, learning from notable artists such as Gustave Boulanger and Jules Dupré.
- 🖼️ His early works combined elements of Impressionism and Pointillism, focusing on street scenes and landscapes.
- 🌅 Valtat’s use of color intensified during his time spent along the Mediterranean coast, expressing Fauvist tendencies in his paintings.
- 🚲 He frequently visited artists like Auguste Renoir and Paul Signac, exchanging art and ideas.
- 👨🎨 Valtat continued to paint until 1948 when he lost his sight due to glaucoma, passing away in 1952 in Paris.
