Our rustic mantel beams are handmade from the best quality solid pine timber. Perfect to style above your fireplace and designed in our signature rustic style. The 4×4 rustic mantel is available in 14 different lengths and five fine wax finish colours. So, you can choose the shelf to suit you.
All fixings are provided, with pre-drilled keyhole fixings in the back and full fitting instructions for easy installation.
Complete the look with our fireplace accessories which includes fire buckets, tools and log baskets.

Funky Chunky Furniture’s shelves, mantels, and furniture are crafted from responsibly sourced wood. We work with suppliers who prioritise sustainable forestry, ensuring forests are well-managed to support biodiversity, protect wildlife habitats, and promote long-term regeneration.
Solid Rustic Timber
To make these rustic mantel beams we select top-quality, unsorted, kiln-dried pine. Each floating mantel is cut to size and finished in our signature rustic style. This leaves in lots of natural timber characteristics and features. Mother Nature’s own stamp of approval.
In this style, you can expect to find splits, cracks, knots, shakes, waney edge, bows, and twists along with machine marks in keeping with the rustic style. These are the qualities that set our shelving apart from the rest. And due to the nature of solid wood, every shelf will be different. Truly unique. One of a kind. Rustic timber. Please note that placing your item above or near to a heat source can cause movement within the timber which may exaggerate these natural features.
All sizes and weights given are approximate. As we only use natural, solid timber, measurements can change slightly from one piece to another.
5 Fine Wax Finish Colours
To finish these chunky wood mantels we use your choice of one of our supreme wax polishes. The finish is professionally applied with the highest attention to detail. And as the wax soaks into the different grains and features it enhances their look and brings them to life. The colours are:

When viewing on screen colours can look different from one screen to another. This makes it less reliable than seeing the real finished timber before your own eyes. Because you want the perfect colour for your home these finishes are available to purchase as small samples. You can order your samples here.

Assembly & Care
Strong Fixings & Easy Installation
When you receive your mantel beam, the packaging will also include fixings. We provide you with fixings that have been designed specifically for the installation of our wooden shelves and mantels. We would recommend fixing it to solid wall types only. With the help of a professional joiner, or a skilled DIY enthusiast they can be fitted to timber frame walls as well.
We are not able to guarantee the mantel if you do not use the fixings we supply, if they are installed using alternative fitting methods, or if they are installed into alternative wall types.

Delivery & Returns
Turnaround & Delivery
As these solid wood mantel beams are handmade we do require some time for manufacturing. This will normally take 3 to 5 working days. They will then be dispatched and will usually be delivered within 1-2 working days providing that there are no courier delays. It is important to open your delivery as soon as it is received so that this can be checked over, and so that the wood can breathe.
Please note: orders with multiple items will be dispatched according to the longest lead time. To receive your quicker lead time items without having to wait, just place separate orders.
